Your local artist, who you’ll find rambling through the tranquillity of the Peak District with my little one, convincing my husband we need a new duck, or painting with Daisy and Dougie glued to my side.

I always dreamed of being an artist, but like many of us, I took the “sensible” route. I spent over a decade as a primary teacher, a job I adored and thought I’d do forever. Then I became a mum, and something shifted. Motherhood reminded me of who I was before life got serious: someone creative, curious, and drawn to the freedom of art. 

In 2020, I picked up a pencil for the first time in years to sketch our rescue dog, Daisy, which turned into pet portraits to raise funds for the charity that saved her! That one sketch turned into DDD nights (that’s dressing gown, drink, and drawing!), Christmas card collections, and a growing love for turning heartfelt moments into meaningful prints. In 2024, I left teaching to focus on my art and The Dog and Ducks Designs full-time. I’ve never looked back.
