Lavender has held a special place in my heart ever since a trip to Provence years ago ~ and now it’s taken over my garden (in the best way). Every summer, it hums with bees, and our dog Dougie does his very best ~ and fails spectacularly ~ to catch one.
This A5 piece captures the soft chaos of that scene: tall sprigs of lavender created in textured heavy body acrylic to give the flowers a gentle 3D lift, and a single bumblebee mid-flight, doing what bees do best.
