Inspired by sun-drenched days in Provence ~ and my very bee-filled garden at home ~ this print is a celebration of summer’s hum and buzz.
Taken from my original A5 painting in watercolour and heavy body acrylic, ‘Lavender Buzz’ features textured lavender stems and a single bumblebee mid-flight. The raised texture of the flowers adds a soft 3D quality, giving the piece depth and a sense of movement.
There’s a touch of memory tucked in too ~ our dog Dougie’s yearly (and completely unsuccessful) attempts to catch a bee always make me smile.
